Cold Storage Uk understand the importance of getting your project right first time. Our Service package ensures we deliver to a high quality, on time and on budget. The complexity of building regulations, fire regulations, environmental legislation and ever more stringent conditions imposed by Insurance Companies make the design and construction of your Temperature Controlled Hygienic Environment a potential minefield. Materials and methods of construction that were industry standards only a short while ago, have today become virtually uninsurable.
However, for our customers, one of the most important elements of quality is the standard of service we offer during installation. We recognise this and ensure all aspects of the process are carefully managed and controlled. PIR Panels
Steel faced polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulated composite panels are designed
to provide fire resistance in line with Loss Prevention Council approval LPCB
standard 1181. The system comprises of PIR insulation with a nominal cover width
of 1160mm and in lengths up to 12m, faced on both sides with galvanised sheet
steel. The facing is bonded to the PIR with a fire resistant moisture curing
adhesive and panels have an interlocking joint design to facilitate rapid and
accurate installation.
Panel to Panel Joint
The panels have male / female interlocking metal facings to provide a secure
and consistent joint detail.
The Insulation
The PIR foam utilised in these panels is completely CFC and HCFC free and has
been cured for 7 days to ensure the foam is fully stable. The long-term dimensional
stability of the foam is guaranteed. The exceptional foam properties enable
the production of flat panels to tolerances of +/- 0.5mm over 2m and the foam
insulation is 100% with no voids
Panel Facings
Panels can be manufactured with a number of facings including white PVC laminate
(foodsafe), polyester, grey primer and stainless steel. Exterior finishes include
HP200 plastisol and PVF2.
Rock Wool Panels
Steel faced mineral fibre insulated panels are designed to provide fire resistance
in line with BS476: Part 22: 1987 for fire exposure of up to three hours integrity
combined with two hours insulation. The system comprises mineral wool panels,
1160mm nominal width and up to 12m long. Normally faced on both sides with 0.55mm
thick galvanised steel sheet.
Panel To Panel Joint
The panels have male / female interlocking metal facings to provide a secure
and consistent joint detail.
The Insulation
Mineral fibre is manufactured from molten diabase volcanic rock, spun into fibres
and bound using heat cured phenol formaldehyde resin (generally less than 5%).
The fibres are treated with a small quantity of refined mineral oil (generally
less than 5%), which acts as a dust suppressant. Mineral fibre is inert under
normal applications. The core has a nominal density of 100kg/m3 and an insulation
value of 0.038W/mok
Water Resistance
Mineral fibre repels liquid water due to the presence of water repellent additives.
Moisture condensing from the air within the core material is less than 0.002%
by volume at 95% relative humidity.
Biological
Completely vermin and rot proof and does not encourage the growth of fungi,
mould or bacteria. It is suitable for use (with suitable facings) in hygienic
areas.
Environment
No CFC's or HCFC's are used in the manufacture of the base material.
Bonding
Panels are bonded using a fast curing one component polyurethane adhesive which
is moisture cured to a hard, tough, non toxic layer resistant to chemicals and
heat. During the bonding process a slight foaming occurs, this gives better
penetration into the porous materials and better filling between uneven surfaces,
increasing panel strength and minimising the possibility of un-bonded areas.
Panel Facings
Panels can be manufactured with a number of facings including white PVC laminate
(foodsafe), polyester, grey primer and stainless steel. Exterior finishes include
HP200 plastisol and PVF2. The thickness of the coloured facings are generally
0.55mm with the grey primer being 0.50mm.
Steel faced polyurethane (PUR) insulated composite panels are designed to provide
a fast, efficient and cost effective coldroom construction system. The system
comprises of CFC free polyurethane panels normally faced on both sides with
a 0.55mm thick galvanised steel sheet whose edges are vertically lipped by 12mm.
The panels have tongue and grooved joints and are connected by a strong cam-lock
system. Panels can be manufactured in lengths up to 12m and width of 1200mm.
Fire Performance
The polyurethane foam within the panels is fire retardant to BS4735: 1974. It
is also classified as 'P', not easily ignitable when tested to BS476: part 5:
1979. Please note that polyurethane is combustible when exposed to flame and
could contribute to the spread of fire.
The Polyurethane panel is not a fire resistant panel. Insurance legislation may restrict the use of these products. RAC Kettering accepts no liability for the suitablity of this product for your project and for insurance purposes would recommend the use of a fire rated Mineral Fibre or PIR.
Panel To Panel Joint
The panels have turned safety edges, cam-locking panel to panel with a tongue
and groove insulation detail and silicone joint sealant for a clean hygienic
surface.
The Insulation
The polyurethane insulation consists of a two component closed cell rigid polyurethane
foam, totally cfc free blowing agents. The foam has been evaluated in combination
with panel facings of steel, aluminium and GRP and has shown excellent adhesion
and density distribution. The insulation is manufactured from polyol and isocyante.
Steel faced standard density expanded polystyrene insulated panels are designed
to provide a versatile, economic option to many insulation requirements where
a specific fire rating is not required. The system comprises of 1200mm wide
insulation panels manufactured up to 12m long, normally faced with 0.55mm thick
galvanised steel sheet.
Fire Performance
All materials used in these insulation panels contains a fire retardant additive
formulated to restrict the extent of burn when tested to BS4735: 1974. It is
also classified as 'P', not easily ignitable when tested to BS476: part 5: 1979.
Please note that polystyrene is combustible when exposed to flame and could
contribute to the spread of fire.
Polystyrene Panel
The Polystyrene panel is not a fire resistant panel. Insurance legislation may
restrict the use of these products. RAC Kettering accepts no liability for the
suitablity of this product for your project and for insurance purposes would
recommend the use of a fire rated Mineral Fibre or PIR.
Panel To Panel Joint
The panels have male / female interlocking metal facings to provide a secure
and consistent joint detail.
The Insulation
The uniform structure of the cells provides good insulation value and good mechanical
strength, producing an extremely durable material that will retain its performance
characteristics throughout its lifespan. All panels are manufactured with a
fire retardant additive.
The Polystyrene panel is not a fire resistant panel. Insurance legislation may restrict the use of these products. RAC Kettering accepts no liability for the suitablity of this product for your project and for insurance purposes would recommend the use of a fire rated Mineral Fibre or PIR.
